About this Course

Students will be introduced to kittens, bunnies, or other pets from the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority. During the course of the camp, they will create artworks of the animals they meet using the artistic principles they learn. Students will explore various artistic mediums, including watercolors, mixed media, and sculpture. Students will practice drawing from real life, still life, and portraits to enhance their skills of observation. They will learn principles of art and composition. Through Creative Creatures, students become humane advocates, empathizing with the animals they draw and paint. Upon completion, the artworks will be publicly displayed and photographed for display on the Project HumaneKind website. These creative works will promote the adoption of animals from the shelter.
