Join us for an evening at Glowfari! Held at the Oakland Zoo, this enchanting, family-friendly lantern festival transforms the Zoo into a glowing wonderland during the winter months. The event features hundreds of larger-than-life, illuminated animal lanterns, each telling a story about wildlife and conservation. Embark on journey through various themed sections throughout the zoo including the Gondola (Strollers and Wheelchair accessible). Past years have included the Artic, Under the Sea, the Jurassic Period, Down on the Farm, and Africa’s Nile River. During our visit, guests can purchase their own meals at a variety of restaurants and snack stations throughout the zoo. - Please arrive by 3:30PM for check in and loading the bus. - Food and water are permitted in the zoo. There are also water refilling stations available. - Strollers and wheelchairs can be stored under the bus for transport to the zoo. They can also be taken in the Gondola to view the upper part of the zoo. - Dress in Layers. The fall and winter can sometimes get a bit chilly in the evenings.
