About this Course

The Castle Rock Youth Climbing School camps are designed for children to learn and experience the exciting and rewarding sport of rock climbing! This is real rock climbing at Castle Rock State Park, not in a climbing gym! This camp encompasses fundamental rock climbing skills. Camps are conducted by certified Castle Rock Climbing School guides/instructors. Meeting location Meet @ the sign board on the left hand side of the Castle Rock State Park Parking lot. Castle Rock State Park - 15000 Skyline Blvd., Los Gatos, CA 95033-8291 What to Bring:day pack, Water & water bottles-half gallon total each per person per day minimum capacity, Snacks and a lunch, Long and short sleeve, one with a collar, and a thermal underwear top and one T-shirt/preferably non-cotton, Shorts, Long nylon or stretch pants, Comfortable Running or lightweight hiking shoes for walking, Rain jacket and pants, Sunglasses, Necessary Medications, sunscreen, chapstick,etc. What’s Included: climbing instruction, climbing shoes, harness, helmet and belay device. Required Release Form link:(to be signed by parents before climbing).www.castlerockclimbingschool.com/forms/release.html Directions: North bound – Take the 85 Freeway north towards Mountain View then take the Saratoga exit. Turn left towards Saratoga Village. Once you pass Saratoga Village, Saratoga turns into Hwy 9. From Hwy 9 and Hwy 35 junction, proceed south on Hwy 35 (left at stop sign). Then pass the Christmas tree farm on your right and Castle Rock State Park parking lot will be on the right hand side. South bound – Take the 85 Freeway south towards San Jose then take the Saratoga exit. Turn right towards Saratoga Village. Once you pass Saratoga Village, Saratoga turns into Hwy 9. From Hwy 9 and Hwy 35 junction, proceed south on Hwy 35 (left at stop sign). Then pass the Christmas tree farm on your right and Castle Rock State Park parking lot will be on the right hand side. Parking inside the park is $8. Free parking is also available on the street but pay close attention to signs and restrictions. There are no gas stations or stores close to the area. Rest rooms are available at the parking lot and at Castle Rock Main information area. No water is available at the park. (make sure to have a Google map of Castle Rock State Park)
